When I was working the offshore oilfields in S.E. Asia I ran into a guy who either worked that job or knew someone who did ( sorry, it was a long time ago ) - he said ALL the gold was brought up. The supposed remaining bars were actually smuggled up and away past the watchful eyes of the representative officials. Whether that's true or not, I can't be sure. He also told me the job was almost shut down because some of the Divers were placing green chemical glow sticks in skulls they found as a surprise for the next shift of Divers - desecration of a war grave and all that. Again, I've never heard anyone verify this claim. Finally, he said that reps. from 2W were waiting onshore when the Stephanaturm returned to port post-salvage; he said there was a dozen or so Jaguar sports cars all lined up on the dock and they handed a set of keys for a car to each the returning Divers as a bonus.

In any event, it would have been the job of a lifetime.
