This is something that has annoyed me to a certain level since I first started diving back in the Ford administration.

Why in the Many Names of Gods is essentially all the webbing in scuba resin impregnated?

Because it's made of nylon and nylon melts with a flame?

They make different thicknesses and stiffness of webbings, although you'll usually have to search online for one.
There was this one site that did custom harnesses for Bp/W. They use an incredibly thin type of webbing, so it doesn't fell as stiff and resin clogged. Since I have to go to work now I'll have to find the link later.

The site is Strapworks. I'm unsure which thickness they got. Chances are it's the one marketed scuba webbing.
