Service double hose regulator?

I like diving with my old reg but it has a slow leak, what's the best method and tool for undoing the metal clamps around the 1st stage and how would I go about bending them back on? Any info would be appreciated.

It wasn't as hard as it seemed like it would be, but some of my chrome did flake off under the clip.

General consensus seemes to be that you should get one of these.

Both are great sources for vintage and double hose divers.

Go to vintagedoublehose.com and get a band clamp for $20. Makes it much easier to work on the regulator.

If you have a US Divers or Voit regulator, get a new silicone diaphram, mouth piece check valves (either the full valves or the mushrooms), and a new duckbill. The silicone rubber of all of these will reduce the work of breathing way below what the reg could do when it was made.
