One would think so but not always. I have seen people that go out of their way to offend the locals.
True, but in some areas it's a matter of offending someone and in other areas it's a matter of endangering your safety. I wasn't talking about spouting your views to the locals but having a conversation within your own group at the dinner table. Just be a bit more careful about being overheard and upsetting someone.
