I did a short video with some footage from a blue water dive I did off Dana Point last Saturday (6-12-2010). We went out over a deep water canyon a few miles out, drop down some lines and clipped off to them in the planktonic flow layer about 100' deep. There were tons of pelagic invertebrates rushing by in the strong current and I did my best to shoot them as they zipped along, but only having about a 10' line limited my ability to stay with anything. Really a lot of fun, I'm anxious to do it again. Nothing rare or unusual this time but others have seen some fantastic stuff on these dives, and the deep water isn't that far off shore up in Dana Point.
