"Should" and "must" in TDI standards

In Engineering speak, the only word that designates an actual requirement is "shall".

Must is not used. Should is not a requirement, only the word "shall" designates something that is required to be included in the design. This is the accepted standard for Hardware and Software design.

That's exactly how all of our specifications are written. The same convention is used every other place I've worked as well.

I find the TDI manuals a bit confusing sometimes because of the grammatical errors and imprecise language sometimes used.

It has been my experience that the TDI course manuals serve as a decent guideline and the core content of a TDI course is delivered by the instructor.
