Best as I understand matters, you'll be covered through a DAN SEAP issued policy, the specifics of which will be somewhat, but not wildly different from those of policies offered by other DAN regional agencies. In any event, no matter where you purchase it you will be covered globally.

Listen to the good doctor! I can't imagine a better insurance investment.

Doc raises a good point about primary health care coverage when traveling overseas. Many US companies will not provide coverage outside the US. On top of this many health care organizations in foreign countries will not recognize your US based healthcare insurance and often require cash upfront. Just imagine having a problem as simple as a car accident and you get stuck with some public health care in a third world country. Fortunately there are several good companies that provide temporary coverage while traveling and cover emergency evacuation to the US if required. Most is reasonable ($2-$4 a day). Just use Google and search for travel insurance.
