I dove recently with someone that has a noise maker that is the most effective I have heard. Effective in that it is very audible and not obnoxious. It is about 2 inches long, looks like a dive tank and sounds like ringing bells when it is shaken. It has an SAS stamp on it. He told me a friend from Japan gave it to him. I've done a fair amount of searching on the web, but I can't find it and I'd really like to have one. Is anyone familiar with this product?

I use an air integrated signal device...Sub Duck "quack quack".

So if you get any info on the item you're referring to, I'd be interested in more info.

They are similar, even if not the exact one you saw.

Your LDS should carry this !!!!

If not, available from Trident , #1 supplier of scuba diving accessories.

Personally, I preffer my SubDuck .... Carribean divers all have a shaker like that. So imagine when one shakes his shaker ....Whick diver ????

I have something like like, but I found it on a dive.Mine just looks like a 4 inch tal of pipe. You could go to a machinest an something like this made with a piece of metal pipe and a few ball berrings. Just get him to weld the pipe at both ends with the ball berrings inside. It would probably only cost a few $ (less than 10 would be my bet).

The one I use originally came from www.scubabell.com but one of the members of our club has started making them. They are not as easy to make as you think as the water pressure manages to sneak in at any tiny hairline crack.

I recently purchased a couple of Scuba Shakers - got them on ebay for 4.95 pound each. By far the cheapest I've seen on the market (when comparing to similar units). Haven't been diving since I've had them, but I'm going to the local pool tomorrow to help out with some training. I'll take one then, and see how it goes.

Check out http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Scuba-Shaker for more info.

Cheers
