Wearing a snorkel diving is like taking a kitchen fridge out for a walk. Futile, pointless, hard work, serves no useful purpose and wont ever have a use.
.

Just when I thought I was being cool...

I like to wear my snorkle becuase here in the north east before or after the swim during a shore dive, I like to use my snorkle because I can save precious air in my tank for the actual dive.

Anyone using a bp/w needs to use a snorkel because the bp/w throws you onto your face at the surface. Very dangerous unless you have a good snorkel.

I though everyone knew that?? :D

I have used a snorkel on dives, just not alot, rather ahve it and not need it then need it and not have it. Also naked diving? What is there to know. HEHEHE

Naked Diving? HHMmmm... I've never heard a fish laugh before :lol2: , must try soon! Right after I re-adjust my snorkel :snorkel: !!

Seriously though, it does have it's uses ( the snorkel I mean). Shore diving in New England, there are some instances where the water is chilly and your point of interest is 150 yds offshore, I'd rather not waste the air by going under so I have more bottom time on site when I get there... I would not attempt this surface swim without a snorkel, that's just askin' for it. Rarely is the weather so obliging as to have a glassy surface. A snorkel would help here. Or if you're low on air and pop up away from your exit point (Boat or shore) it helps. Are they a pain sometimes? Oh yeah, don't me started :redhot: !!! When I dove today, I must have shoved that thing ( the top of it) back out of my face at least 9 times!!! It's a trade-off.....Personal choice.

I always felt like I was suffocating from the dead air in the snorkel on surcace swims so I just roll to my back and swim out that way. mind you most of my dives are freshwater lakes.

Geeze, I had a great photo to post but the file management is not working.
