Just back from Sogod Bay Scuba Resort. The weather in late Feb wasn't great. Cloudy, windy and very wet. Water temp was 26C. Quite annoyed that we left our 5mm suits at home. We'd been told the water temp was 26-28C.

We had torrential rain for the first couple of days but the weather gradually improved. We never lost a single dive, even when the wind and rain was pretty strong. We did however shore dive on the worst days. Loading the boat in the big waves was more of an issue than the actual diving itself.

There was no talk of whalesharks, not the weather for spotting them. Huge amounts of plankton in the water so I'm guessing they will be around.

On the plus side the sun was shining on the day we left and the weather was getting better every day. The locals assured us that it was unusually wet this year and that Feb wasn't normally this bad.

The ferry to and from Cebu was great. On time (more or less) and fully air conditioned (Brrr!)

We had a great time and will certainly be back.

Not what you want to hear but the weather last February on about the second week was lovely...the group behind saw a whaleshark and then in mid December we saw two. It's a wonderful destination when the weather is good..as it was for us in December. But hey the world is a small place now.
