Can folks point me to discussions or reviews of Australian diving? I'm definitely interested in the Great Barrier Reef but also curious about what else might be worthwhile in the country or area.

Thanks in advance!
David

Hmm... a big country and there is far more to diving here than just the GBR!

Let's see... if you are prepared to travel, off the top of my head:

Mike Ball Expeditions Cairns QLD

Dive the Yongala near Townsville QLD

Seals and Cuttlefish at Jervis Bay NSW

Lord Howe Island NSW

Submarines and HMAS Canberra near Melbourne VIC

Great Whites with Rodney Fox SA

Whale Sharks at Exmouth Gulf, Ningaloo Reef WA

Fish Rock at South West Rocks is amazing.
I was told Exmouth is better than GBR, but I have zero experience to compare as I went snorkeling in GBR years before I started diving. It was fairly beat up in the little section I was. My understanding is that the farther you go out, the better it gets (especially if too far for day boats).
