Some kind of gastropod seen at La Jolla Shores

Anyone have any idea what this guy is? I found it during late afternoon in about 35ft just below the point where the eel grass beds give out and the canyon slope begins. It was moving pretty fast (for a slug).

Overall length was about 1 inch.

I saw somthing like that last night (May 5, 2006) but with different coloring. it was at about 65 feet. looked like it was moving... about 2 inches long... have you id'd it yet?
