Good stuff. I was told before you could not carry the gun out to the water - I see now that is incorrect. That is only in a preserved area that it must be unloaded and stored.

I spoke to LE and "public swimming beach" is any beach area where the public may go. Spearing is allowed 100 yards off shore.

As happened recently with another event announcement some folks I've told about this get-together jumped on ScubaBoard (most for the first time) and couldn't find the thread. If you'd like a larger attendance you might want to consider moving it into the Florida "Trips" section or main Conch area.. If not, never mind..

Cool, I was already planning to stay over with some Tampa pals and do the Venice Shore Dive with the Central Florida Scuba Group that afternoon, so it would rock to learn another shore dive that morning.
