Jensm:
Hi,

I'm looking to buy an entry-level dive computer in Singapore next week. Any shop recommendations? I guess competitive prices, wide selection and central location are waht I'm looking for

Thanks,

Jens
There is a Scubapro shop and Oceanic shop at the basement of Concourse on Beach Road.

Scubapro shop also carries UWATEC. The Oceanic shop used to carry some Suunto stuff, not sure if they still do since Oceanic is coming out with the Atom.

You must bargain at the Lucky Plaza shops.

DrMike, Moskito, DrMike, Moskito, DrMike I'm sorry no matter how many times i write this i cant see these two words together, or have you abandoned the YBOD and bought a pink snorkel to go with the Moskito.

LOL Actually I was looking for a cheap bottom timer and was considering using the Moskito in gauge mode before I found out that its gauge mode only works for 5 mins or something equally as f*cked up(designed for free diving) :bounce:

S$500 is quite expensive, unless they raise their price. I check last December, and I can get it for S$470-S$490.

DeepTrip - you blur or what? DrMike already set the low price at $450 (don't anyone dare pay more) and made jensm feel like a worthless fool for wasting money. You rubbing salt in the wounds? :p

Well, my bargaining skills just aren't up to par at Lucky Plaza then. I walked away and didn't get a better offer than $500.

Well, it's still SG$300 cheaper than at home :)

Jens

I've been ripped off in Lucky Plaza for different things that I only go in with an armed escort!! The Paris Department store is the only one I feel fairly well treated becasue the guy knows me. Let this be your lesson - always check with DrMike first before buying in there  I'm glad you saved money from your shop back home. Happy diving.
