Some friends invited us to a week at the St. John Westin in May of next year. Unfortunately, Irma has laid a major whoopin on the island.

I have no doubts the Westin folks will do their magic on the resort, but what about the reefs? Any speculation on how beat up they will be? Would waiting a year make a significant difference?

We have had some dive instructors apply for positions here in the Keys that were
from St. Thomas and St. John . They had said it would be sometime before things
would resume to normal . I am not there but did just get a visit from Hurricane Irma .
I am sure that the folks at the Westin in St. John would be able to give you a better
idea of a time frame . Have been to St. Thomas many times and enjoyed it . We have
stayed at resorts and also have rented houses . Good luck on your trip and I hope you
have a great time diving !
