I am also planning on a SC shark dive within the next couple of months. Can anyone tell me exactly (in terms of feet) how close they come during the first dive?
===============================
Unless they've changed things the sharks are within arms reach throughout the dive. Once the divemaster opens the crate containing the food (fish parts) the sharks (and the scavenger Groopers) come in. The Groopers sit on the bottom and catch scraps and the sharks circle and make passes for food. They are generally swimming right over the divers heads and sometimes they get a little too close to each other and swim erratically. I remember on one of our dives being bumped pretty hard by a shark that had swam into another shark. It's a RUSH !!
