My two boys and I are going to Steinhatchee over spring break to kayak, chill, grill, fish, and scout/find locations where a yak can be launched from shore with only a short paddle to the scallop beds. The 15-year old is driving now. And I thought I knew what fear was.
Right now the spearfishing is hot but the water is not, so being a Registered Woose I won't be diving just yet. Maybe a spring where water is 72, but forget about 60 degrees. President of the local Chamber of Commerce said her husband would point me in the right direction if I would just show up. Notwithstanding my lack of mental acuity, even I can do that. So I'll be there starting March 26th for a week with my boys and my sweet lil' yak/dive trailer, getting the low down to become the Scallop Catcher of the Century this season. Will in Sarasota
