Thanks for the replies. I had no idea other people had thought of the same thing. I also didn't think of the inclination factor (where the land compass has to be held level.-most of them anyways). By the way, when I mentioned that most U.W. compasses I've seen were in the 100 dollar range, I forgot to mention I was thinking in Canadian: 100 Canadian $ = .50 cents U.S. (or something like that).
