Google “book screws scuba”.
I mean I could google, or I could look across the room at my two freedom plates, one using book screws (shiny dive-rite SS ones with a rubber gasket to minimize metal to metal contact) and one using one of the t-nuts under discussion.

I bought them at my local farm supply store in stainless.
Right, and that's how I got the idea, when I bought one @DirtFish 's freedom plates.
 
Sometimes known as "book screws".

These aren't book screws.

AKA Weld Nuts

I have a set that I used for old timey vintage doubles bands (bands that have a separate point to thread to a backpack).
They self center and tighten easy when when using two per bolt.
 
Get some different screws for stuff
