I'd plan a trip, not a destination.
Ningaloo, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, Truk, Fiji...spend 4 weeks minimum. The above isn't all-inclusive of course, but those will get you everything from wonderful corals (hard and soft), to masses of fish and cool critters, to macro minis, to big pelagics and mammals to wrecks (not my thing, but might be fun for a once in a lifetime trip).
There are other segments of the planet that you could plan to for a great combo of stuff (Mexico, Honduras, Bahamas etc)...especially as you don't seem to have a MUST DO (like diving with hammerheads for instance)...a sampler would be the way I would do it.
