It is also a very active area for boats zipping about and they don’t watch for divers, it would be irresponsible to swim out and back. I assume the Coast Guard would haul you out and fine you for obstructing boat traffic if they caught you, with or without a scooter.

It would be a good run for properly setup sit on kayaks though, maybe a rental opportunity in Chemainus.

do they have a bouy,float or some kind of marker with a chain to id where the plane is? If boat traffic is that busy there even in the winter is it really that safe of a place to dive? what would you tie the kayaks up to?
