I'm evaluating that SR2....

still have my HOG D1 sets (wife and daughter's for cold), and a Deep6......

and..... my Poseidon XStreams continue to serve me well...
Dove the SR1 yesterday, flawless performance, easy servicing, many innovative (even though introduced 13 years ago) features, I’m kicking myself for not having paid more attention. I’m now looking for an SR 2 (second stage coming) to see what the changes were, it may be that there are none in the first stage.

As Dr. Rob said, for some reason, Sherwood gets no love on the West Coast. They are also quiet here in the East. Pockets of followers.... I've likely become one....

This (SR2) is what can turn me back to pistons....

I would love to see them come out with a Z type LP section to get rid of the swivel but will see if further dialogue with them gets any play.

Late to the party but the additional info might help someone else.

I've used both the C370 and G260. I'd be fine with either as my last reg.

Of course the C370 is smaller and lighter.

Performance wise I cannot tell the difference between the two. I was shocked at just how well the C370 breathes, I wasn't expecting much but from first breath underwater I thought "wow", very smooth and very quiet.

I found the G260 off the bat easier to service but then I've had a lot of experience with the G series.

Initially had a couple of "huh" moments servicing the C370 but once I made some sense of the poorly written manual and discovered you need to leave a small gap between diaphragm and lever and how to line up adjuster shaft and install into housing it was fine. Now I am more familiar with its particular design I don't anticipate any issues next time around. I think, once familiar, you could service the C370 in about same time as a G260, nothing in it.

No specialised tools required, same lp seat as G/S series, same exhaust valve, same orifice, same balance chamber, spring is a .215 and coated black but I'm sure I read somewhere it's just a coated .216 spring. All O rings are shared with the G250/G250V and a G260 so if you have both those regs O rings and a seat you're good to go. The only thing "special" is the adj knob sticker but I leave those off anyway. It uses the plastic orifice but a metal one can be used, not entirely sure of benefits of one over the other.

As far as exhaust bubbles go any difference between the G260 and C370 wasn't noticeable to me. The one complaint I have with SP regs is the narrow exhaust Ts they use, bubble interference isn't a big issue but if using for example an XTX with wide exhaust T bubble interference is zero. Wish SP would still offer larger T's even as an after purchase option. Surprised they don't, I can only assume they don't see a demand and/or is financially driven.

If you don't like the blue S purge cover you can use the black/silver C350 one as case and face plate are the same.

Price obviously is quite a bit cheaper, which for IMO equal performance to a G260, is an absolute steal.

I really like it and want one of my own.
