Rescheduling of flights in Indonesia - regardless of airline - as has been said, it happens, it will happen, it happens at the last moment, even checking every day can't completely protect you. We've flown Lion, CityLink, Garuda and Batik - little to choose between them. It pays to know the schedules of all flights so if yours is cancelled/changed you know which is the next best flight. As you have done, leave tons of time for connections. Use of Indo agent sounded useful advice.
So here's mine. In Manado. Our flight was eventually cancelled due to weather which included rain at Singapore Airport - yes it was that bad. Passengers swarmed to the office to re-book on the next flight. In fact they filled the next two flights. We moved slower and got the third flight out and got the seats we wanted, no hassle. And the rain didn't stop. It doesn't in that part of the world. So the first flight out was in fact the third option. So consider the time scales and the likely duration of bad weather. The next flight may be too soon. Which returns to "know the schedules" and "leave tons of time for connections". Love boredom, hate rush and stress.
