I have a Olympus underwater housing and unfortunately had a little problem with a underwater filter that I had attached to it. It has become vary corroded do to not cleaning it well enough. I can not get the filter off and it has now been destroyed but I still wish to unthread the fitting. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One of those straps that mechanics use?

Have you done a big long soak in soapy warm water? Use a toothbrush to lightly scrub where it attaches to dislodge whatever bits you can and then try to unscrew it. Might have to do it a few times.

I have soaked it in boiling water and had no luck. But I guess i will keep trying, thanks for your help and suggestion.
