hi everyone!
Are there any news for this housing? it's been more than a 3 month since camera arrived but there is a complete silence on the internet. Even Oly em1 ii third party housing is already out (Nauticam, Subal)!
I think this camera can be a real rival for the new olympus (less money, almost same functionality).

What are you thoughts?

There is a housing from Nauticam, for example here:
Nauticam NA-GX85 Housing voor Panasonic GX85/GX80/GX7 II

I did want to get this housing initially, but I'm now going for the E-m1 II mainly because of:

- Higher flash sync speed
- Better battery
- Better autofocus
- Image quality a little bit better

So while the functionality isn't really the same as the Olympus it's up to you wether it's worth the cost difference.

Well yes there is a NA for GX85 but it is definitely not up to specs with G85 (in terms of features: evf size and quality for example, better stabilisation etc). Panasonic Lumix G85 vs GX85 (G80 vs GX80) – The complete comparison
the price difference is is not so big - 200 USD, the price of housing should be the same.
As for em-1 ii yes it is a king of m43 but 2000 USD is just too much!!!! plus several hundred USD more for housing.

So I am waiting for G85 ))))

I'm not sure if there will be a housing for the G85, Nauticam never made a housing for its predecessor the g7.
Keep in mind the G85 is (much) bigger so if there's going to be a housing it will be more expensive as well.

Personally I would prefer a smaller housing compared to the minor advantages of the G85 for underwater use.

I have been in touch with IKELITE since December 2016 regarding a housing for this camera. They then informed me that they would have news in a "few weeks". I have continued to, press them throughout this year where they keep insisting that it is in development.
My own opinion is that, given they have a housing for the more expensive GH5, they don't want sales to detract from that by introducing a cheaper housing for a cheaper camera which, to all intent and purpose, will do a pretty near identical job underwater where video is concerned.

Does anyone know if the GX85 or G80 or any other camera in the Panasonic line can produce accurate manual white balance at depth without use of a filter. I know the LX10, LX100, and GH5 can. The G8 and GH5 can't. Hoping for a mirrorless Panasonic for freediving and split shots.
