This is nothing new---in the 90's the chamber next to AKR on Roatan was known of as 'the busiest' in the world thanks to lobster diving on the Mosquito Coast(Honduras & Nicaragua ).....A lot lost their lives or were paralized due to not bringing them in till day 5+ after their hits.....

pretty haunting. Clearly these divers do not have many options for other jobs. Is there an option to assist the country through PADI and DAN trying to put together some training, and adequate equipment? Perhaps a charge per pound on the lobster tails these people are giving their bodies for.

...do we really want to support the depletion of sea life (lobsters, etc.) ? by 'donating' $/gear/training to those pillaging the sea ? ....what next, maybe pass the hat and do a fund raiser to buy baseball bats for baby harp seal fur hunters ?
