Hi everybody,
my cousin is an officer of the Spanish Navy who is making a training in the USA now. He asked me about diving in Virginia Beach (centers, resorts...), he´s an open water diver.
Any recommendation?
Thanks

Yes: two recommendations... Capt. JT who specialises in technical charters but also runs some recreational and in any event is a very good source of informaiton in the area and whose boat is the best six-pack I have ever seen anywhere on the east coast... anywhere period actually http://www.capt-jt.com/underpressurecharters.htm

And Lynnhaven Dive Centre which is a very good store in VB and which runs recreational charters all season http://www.ldcscuba.com/about.htm

Hope this helps

Thanks very much, Doppler, have you ever gone scuba diving there? How is it? Thanks again

Plenty of scuba diving in this area. But he will need logged proof of deep dives or a deep dive certification as part of an advanced c-card. There are 3 dive operations associated with dive shops and 1 which is independant. Lots of wrecks, visibility in the 4-20 feet range typically. Further down in north Carolina it is near tropical (Moorehead City)
