You can pick up small adapters here at Ace Hardware for cheap. I use them for some of my Canadian stuff although all my UW camera stuff is rated to 240V. They would be heavy to carry around too.

We are building a house and I'm bringing plasma TVs and speaker systems from Canada, way cheaper and our architect has integrated step down converters into the house.

Hi guys, I am leaving very soon for Cabilao (Polaris Resort) and Dauin (El Dorado) and have more voltage questions.

1. Digital Camera Battery Charger is 110-240 with 2 flat prongs, same size. This should work without any adapters correct?

2. Strobe Battery Charger is 110-240 with 2 flat prongs and a round prong. Do I just need a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter for this?

3. D-size NIMH battery charger is only 110. This is the one that has been giving me a headache. My D-size batteries usually take 8-10 hours to charge. All of the converters I've looked at say they aren't for continuous use or 2-3 hours max. Do I need to get something like this?

Polaris said that they have European Style outlets, are those the 2 round pins? Does anyone know what El Dorado uses?

Thanks for all your help!

1 yes
2 yes
3 no, american style, but 220. either buy a converter or a charger that does 110-200

A surge strip is a good thing to carry, but make sure it is 110-220, and a supply of adapters for the plugs and you will have it made! Most electronics from Japan and Taiwan come from countries that use 220 and are converted to work in the US and Canada! Just check the numbers on the item being plugged in and you should have no problems!
