Hi
I currently have a a95 and DC50 housing. I do not have a strobe as yet but will be heading to truk soon for some wreck diving, so I am looking at getting a wide angle lens. I have looked at the inon uwl-105ad which gives 105 degrees viewing angle.

The inon ufl-165ad has also caught my eye which gives 165 degrees.

So without a strobe, which is going to be the better lens to get? I will be getting 1 D2000 strobe soon...I have heard 2 strobes are needed for the fisheye.

Any help on this matter is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi I have the Inon fisheye I recomend it over the WA as its depth of field is from the
dome to infinity and its coverage awesome. It works well in natural light.
cheers Alan

Agree the fisheye would be good with natural light, wrecks, etc. It also has focal point basically on the dome and should allow over/under shots. However there is a need for dual strobes if you want to light this way. You will get away with only one with 105AD (I have and love this lens). The fisheye is also not ideal in many situation (very specialised). Although some great shots of even fish can be had with the 165 the much flatter 105 is better for people portraits and fish shots, a subject is very easy to lose with such a large angle of view. It really depends what you are intending on shooting most and how much you intend to use natural light / artifical light.

Sorry if this doesn't really answer your question but I thought it may give you a little more information to make your choice.

Hi I totaly agree with lukeROB,although one strobe can be used well enough if balanced
with the natural light. The fisheye will distort diver shots if the diver is head on and close. Wish I could afford both fisheye and W/A.
