I knew that it was the HMS Challenger, but I couldn't remember who was on the boat. I did a search, and came up with this page:

And misread the part about the Challenger. It says, "Intrigued by the earlier work by Charles Darwin aboard the Beagle, the H.M.S. Challenger sails from Portsmouth, England..."

So... Oops! Ya caught me! Doh!
