As the title says, it seems that this technology was adopted only from small brands.

I bought an Aladin square that remember me my first Aladin dive computer back in the 90s.
I love him but I was a little bit disappointed to see how it's old from tech point of view:

In 2014 I still have to press a button to read the display in overhead env.
I have to buy a full fledged computer to use it like a gauge just to have resettable average depth and stopwatch.

Whould be nice hearing some explanation form some Scubapro tech guy iv avail.
 
I have heard talk of a "color" Gallileo Luna/Sol computer being tested and possibly coming to market in the next couple of years, but not sure if it is OLED or any specifics as far as brightness, etc
