I am traveling to the Tampa/St Pete Bay Area and hope to do some diving in the Gulf. My question is as I have never done diving there( I am from Argentina) is it necessary to wear a wetsuit, if so what thickness would be necesary.
I thank whoever replies my thread

It depends what the water temperature is when you get here. As for me I can use a shorty mm on water temparature not lower than 72f and be fine.

I've dove out of the central Florida gulf coast in January when it was 58F (14C) and in August when it was 88F (31C). For me that means 7mm with vest/hood to boardshorts when the jellies aren't bad.
