Well, I'm a summer baby, through and through. So the weather has to be pretty good!

The drysuit recommendation is only because I'm starting my technical training and getting in and out of my semidry wetsuits are a PITA! Plus it's a bit more versatile in the long run.

Plus dry suits can be used in any temp really. Just remove or add thermals as needed. Getting out of a suit dry to get into clothes and leave immediately without toweling off etc is soooo nice!

I've lived and dived in Sydney for a while. It is a bit of a stretch to do it with just one wetsuit, but possible. I would get a good quality 5mm with semi dry seals and a vest/hood. This should see you right in Sydney. As you move north yoIu can then discard the vest/hood, but getting much further north than Brisbane the 5mm suit will be too warm. A 5mm suit will also suit for diving in Bali too. Many of the sites there can dip down to 24 degrees.
