Whale Shark seen off of Kona!

[PNW Diver]

SIgh Both wednesday and friday -- 2 different animals, one friendly male
off of Kaiwi Point, one female off of Golden Arches. I wasn't on the boat either day.
Wednesday was flying to the mainland for family Thanksgiving that night. Still in
CA on friday; of course my friends had to call and gloa^H^H^H^H tell me about
the sightings.

Those folks wouldn't do that<griin>

Got to spend about 45 minutes swimming with the Whale Shark in Kona. It all seems like a distant memory now that I'm back in Seattle.
There was a photographer on one of the other boats that is going to post his pics for ordering, I'll forward it when I get it.

There was also a fellow diver on the Dive Tek boat who may have gotten some good shots, we'll see. I missed the one the next day due to no fly times.

I saw a whale shark in Kona down by Milolii in 1974-my buddy "Punchy" was spearfishing -looked up to surface-and thought a huge shark was circling our boat -and was afraid to surface-probably40'-beautiful....peace...saildiver.
