OK....Do you believe there is or there are not whale activity in the Gulf of Mexico?

Have you seen them or evidence of whales in the Gulf of Mexico?

How deep have you seen the whales in the Gulf of Mexico?

Supposedly they occassionally run whale tours out of Orange Beach, AL on occassion. I've never done one, nor have I seen them, but I've heard too much about them being out there to not believe it.

I know there are pilot whales bc I know people personally who have seen them, in some cases gotten pictures. I dunno if they're really considered a whale, being more of a huge dolphin.

what do pilot whales look like?

are they like a short / smaller version of a grey whale and with a more rounded nose/ tip/ head?

ok...good link...there is one like that, which I found after your post. Your post sparked increased interest.

So, your link(s) kind of prove that there are whales in the Gulf. Here is a better one of your links that shows the distribution of whales throughout the world for each type of whale. It clearly shows distribution for a handful of whales within the Gulf of Mexico. Amazing. Who would have thunk:

I have video, of what I believe to be a [-]CUVIER'S BEAKED WHALE [/-] SPERM WHALE at 2,960 ft in Missipee Canyon. Amazing, and it probably scared the beegeezes out of the ROV operator when it came into view.

Free Salty!!!

We have sperm whales in the gulf off Louisiana all summer

I tell ya...I am glad I did not vote "no":D
