In one way a least that's probably a better approach than a colored hose. A thought I had is in the long term, black hoses are proven to hold up against UV exposure and "life", long track record there.... Not so sure about the colored elastomers.
I had that netting sleeve stuff on an old pony bottle reg a very long time ago. That reg died way back when and I haven't considered it ain a long time....
