I regret purchasing the Aqua "Safety Sausage" Marine Rescue Tube Signal for $12.95.

You get what you pay for. This was sooooo cheaply made that the seams came apart when I took it out of the bag. I should point out that I wasn't inflating it, just removing it from the bag in which it came.

I suppose I was lucking that it failed in the first thirty seconds in my living room and not when I was bobbing in the swells hoping to be seen as the current swept me out to sea.

Oh man! There is not enough room here to .... In buying diving equipment the worst thing I ever did was replace my custom 7mm farmer a suit that was showing age (really showing age) after 18 years with a 5mm full suit ... stupid stupid stupid!

stupid!

Two years ago I bought a very expensive housing for my video camera, believing the salesman's promise that, because it had electronic controls, I could easily upgrade it to the new models of cameras as they were released ("just change the camera tray and the front bulkhead to match the position of the lens on the new model"). I just sold it on ebay for 1/4 of the price that I paid for it because none of the new video camcorders fit into it...

Those stupid "scumball" occy holders, constantly caused my occy to free-flow (even after punching drainage holes into it). The occy just kept falling out and was a PITA to get back in. Went to the basic rubber tab style and haven't looked back. Am thinking about using the DIR style medical tube (or lanyard) around the neck method.

Force Fins. BUT, they don't fit right so I don't know if I really hate them or not.

If anyone needs a pair of of XXX or XXXX black force fins hit me up.

equiptment specialist course. the "instructor" just showed me what the shop sold. no repair, or 'care for' advice for wet suits. i guess i am now certified to buy something from them.

Actually, that interests me. What exactly DO you learn on the equipment specialty course? :>

When I did the FAUI equipment specialty course many, many moons ago, I learned to strip down and service about 5 different types of regulators. I learned how to do a tank inspection, including hydrostatic. I learned how to melt lead and make my own weights. I lead how to do seam and hole repairs in wetsuits and BCDs.

I guess we got more bang for our buck back then.
