My 1997 Baja Marine 38 Special finally was delivered today. The boat is missing anchors--what would be the best type and weight for a 38-foot-long boat?

Typically you look at the bottom where you will be anchoring most often and get the appropriate anchor for it. Also a lot of chain (Rode) to keep the anchor stuck in place. Of course plenty of rope to allow for long scopes.
Something like this works well for many different conditions.

Fortress are awesome for all boat types.
Best anchor is a local knowledge thing. Your boat may not be the type for a mounted anchor and hopefully a windlass system. The fortress is a great lunch hook, light weight easy to stow. Add 20 ft of chain to help hold it down though. I've woken up in the middle of the night dragging one of those thing before. Not fun
