There are lots of kinds of jacks.
I guess the correct modern sign for a jackfish is to pretend to call AAA on a cellphone. ?

My signal would be "Jackfish" on a white slate, in contrasting black pencil.

Hmm...I passed this thread on to the dive group. We never thought of mimicking using a carjack for jackfish.
We always wondered why no women ever dived with us twice after we tried to point out schools of jacks off in the distance.
