Like I said before, do whatever makes you happy. Letting a DM put my BC and reg on a tank doesn't make me any less a diver than you. It's just not that complicated. If my gear gets set up with no O ring, I'll know it long before I get in the water. Are you afraid that the DM will do something bad to your gear that you won't be able to detect when you check your rig? What could that be?

I let the DM set my gear up, then I check it, check my buddies, she checks hers & checks mine, we get wet...system works pretty well.

I'm more concerned about making sure my 30+ year old regulator is well maintained for safety, then I am about a person who sets them up several times a day, nearly every day.

Hmm.... If I was looking for an op, my list would be:

1. Alison;
2. Carlos;
3. Alison;
4. Carlos;
5. Alison;
6. Carlos, and;
7. At least granola bars.....

I like this list! Generic items:
1. Let me dive my air/computer
2. Fast boats
3. no cattle boats

My pet peeve.... don't mess with my air!
