Cenotes are definitely one of the best dives you can do anywhere in the world, that is if you are into caverns/cave diving of course.
The Riviera Maya in general is pretty nice, warm water, more stable viz and coral reefs and there are some great wall dives.
Caves aside, the best diving in Mexico for me is the Sea of Cortez. The biodiversity I see here I hardly see anywhere in the world and its seasonality creates a fairly unique ecosystem.
And then there is Socorro of course.
