Who to dive with Cancun?

Based on our past experiences, we book with Ben Mooney@ Scorpio Divers, Scorpio Divers // Scuba Diving // Diving the way it should be.. You are smart to stay away from the wankers at Aqua World. We just booked 6 dives wth Ben in March.
As far as I know, there is no nitrox on Cancun, just in Cozumel.

I second that, Froid. You won't be sorry you dove with Ben and Jorge. If you want to dive it, they'll make it happen.

I have been diving with Manta Divers in Cancun for the last 4 year. Just this last year they starting offering nitrox.

I think most shops offer nitrox. But you have to let them know ahead of time because of the additional expense. They have to get the tanks filled at the hyperbaric chamber.

Definitely all about Ben Mooney look him up here on Scubaboard, I dove with him when he was with Mayan Aqua Dive but would go dive where ever he is (Scorpio now).
For two tank regular dives in Cancun I wouldn't waste the money on Nitrox, just dive air, it's cheaper and you're not going to substantially increase your bottom times on a two tank dive, even with repeatative days.
As a side note, I also concur with the wanker label for AquaWorld.

Hey anyone snorkeled in front of the Westin lately? Last time I was there in 2004 it was about the only place worth getting in to take a look at from the beach, just wondering if its still there after the storm and them adding sand to the beaches...

The only snorkeling I do down there is at the pier at the Hotel International. It's on the gulf side so the water is not as clear but we've always seen stuff down there.
