Alright, I guess you guys/gals convinced me that maybe it is better
to keep this low until something is decided as to what to do.
I am thus editing the post to remove its meat.

Dive safe !

Why not honor the request that Pete made to ask him in a PM? I did and received a prompted and reasonable response.

beginningdiver:
I did too, but did not receive any response

He indicated he was a little busy so he may be taking his afternoon nap. I'm sure he'll get to it when he can.

This is not the first time a DM/Inst. has caused an ear problem by dragging a diver down. It needs to be out in the open for all to see.

No problem. I did not want to cause any grief.
Was just quite surprised at the thread removal, given
all the good feedback I received from you guys so far.

As for the "pending legal action" reason, I am not sure
why that is an issue (no legal action has been taken
nor claims to that effect were made).

I truly believe that something like this has to be out in the open.
I completely agree with rigdiver on this one !

thanks !

I think the action taken by Netdoc is appropriate. It is to protect the forum for unnecessary legal action by the facility.

Libel charges has been filed against other forums for misinformations. I think it is a wise decision and to let the legal system take care of these serious charges.

But then this implies that no more accident discussion is going
to be taking place on the boards because there is always
somebody at fault that could claim libel ? This is non-sense.
The discussion boards clearly state in the policy that they do
not endorse the opinion of the posting parties.

Maybe someone is planning on filing suit against you i.e the dive operation or the person you were talking about or even PADI or any combination of the three.

I think you can talk about various events, but you use the names and addresses of the people involved. This makes a specific and targeted accusation I'm no lawyer, but that might be the reason why it was stopped.
