This thread is up with plenty of advance notice this year to allow people that want to stay for the whole weekend plenty of time to make plans and take advantage of the weekend package deal we have with the Seaport Village Inn. (Details below. Mention ScubaBoard to get the special package.)

I'll update the first 2 posts as a running synopsis of this thread.

When: Saturday, March 10th
Where: Avalon Underwater Dive Park at Casino Point, Catalina Island

What is the Wrinkles Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers and non-divers in SoCal who can make it. It's a lot of fun involving diving, eating, socializing and sometimes even camping!

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to everyone of all skill levels from "I'm not certified yet" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

We've found this to be a great way to meet our fellow divers locally and many new dive buddies have been found though these "dive soirees".

NEW!!! Special Weekend Package for ScubaBoard through the Seaport Village Inn:

While many people will get up early on Saturday morning to catch an early boat to Catalina and then take a late boat out at the end of the day, some of us will be spending the whole weekend on Catalina Island.

I have arranged for an excellent package for the whole weekend though Seaport Village Inn. I believe that this is a better value than staying at the Hermosa for $35 per night and paying for things in this package separately. Here is what this package includes:

  • Rountrip Transportion to Catalina on the Catalina Express
  • Shuttle on Arrival and Departure
  • Accomodations on Friday and Saturday night
  • Hot Breakfast each morning
  • Champagne on evening of arrival
  • Shuttle to and from the flag pole at Casino Point
  • A place to rinse our gear at the end of the day
  • Complementary baggage storage for the day of departure

The Seaport Village Inn will book the Catalina Express for you when you make your reservation.

If you ask for it, couples will get ocean view rooms as long as they are available.

This is all based on singles sharing rooms. This means either 4 people share an apartment suite with full kitchen (2 queen, 2 twin roll-away beds), or 2 people share a premium room (queen and twin roll-away beds). Rooming will be arranged by the hotel at random or you can call in and let them know the names of those people who will be sharing a room.

Cancellation Policy
  • Cancel within 2 days - no refund
  • Cancel within 7 days - 50% refund
  • Cancel with more than 7 days notice - $50 processing fee

Package Price = $115 per person includes ALL applicable taxes!
You must mention ScubaBoard to get this special price!

RSVP:

I've started a ScubaBoard Calendar event for you to RSVP here:

http://www.scubaboard.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=1035&day=2007-3-10&c=32
(you can now rsvp and include your guest count!)

Please sign up on the Calendar. This will help us get an idea of how many people will be there so that we can set aside a space by the Casino that is big enough for all of us to hang out together.

Please update your party size on the calendar with changes.

Hey, that sounds like a fun weekend. You staying the day, or all weekend? I wonder if I can talk Jesse into giving this one a try (strictly surface support, of course).

I'll be there for the weekend. It was an absolute blast when we did this last time.

By the way, please note that today I've gotten us even better pricing for our March and November stays. It went from $150 per person plus applicable taxes to $115 per person including applicable taxes.

Of course, July will be a little higher because it is during the "high season", but the price still rocks at $165 per person including applicable taxes!

Nice. Have to get permission from my better half still, but I definitely want to go.

I have a concert to go to in March..if it's not on the same weekend..I'm there! :14:

I've resurrected my long lost ScubaBoard login just to say hi and that it was really nice meeting everyone at the La Jolla event. Steve and I were Terry's all to dry guests (thanks for inviting us Terry!). We'll get wet next time. As I thought, I have a friend in town and can't make the Catalina dive. But, bets are on that Steve will! I'm directing him here to sign up. Cheers!

If I don't make it (at least for the evening activities), I should be excommunicated!

Hey Becki!!! Hope you can make the next event! BTW. There is another dive in Laguna in February. See the thread on this forum for me details.
