I am trying to find these guys in my field guides but no luck. The closest I get is Halichoeres trispilus but these guys don't have the spots and have the pink cheek markings that above wrasse does not. Any clues ?? Thanks

Yes, absolutely Bluehead, initial phase. The spot on the fin is the fish's memory cue for the ID: "Blob on Blue."
