While on the topic of valve inserts, do they all take the same size hex wrench?

Mine appear to be 8mm.

Nope, I've got at least 2 different sizes, possibly 3 since one of them I think is 1/4". The other 2 are definetly 6 and 8mm.

The easy (but not cheap) solution is to put 300 bar 7/8"-14 modular valves on the tanks and add 232 bar "H" valves for the yoke regulators.

Yes, 8mm is the most common size, but as Jimmer says there are others.

I find the chat on yolk and din interesting, personally I dont mind, I use both, but if you intend travelling tank rental options are almost always with yolk valves, so its probably prudent not to use the yolks as fishing sinkers once you have removed them :D
