Hi Monster - Yep, I have dived Malaysia, Thailand & Philippines too.
Thailand (Phuket) was so much better in the early 90's. There seems to be a lot less fish there now but there's so many more dive boats too.

I haven't done that many unlike all the pros on this board (I am not worthy!) but my last trip was the best by far - it was Sipadan, off Borneo in East Malaysia - I stayed at Sipadan Water Village which was the best run outfit I've ever been at.

I concur that the GBR is overrated - if you do day trips you are on boats with about 30 other divers on board so UW it's like rush hour here in LA - bumper to bumper
