I am sure 70 pages back the answer to my question was posted but what is the TFX second stage (no hose) weight compared to a T3 second stage (no hose) weight?

T3 184.5g measured with AA mouthpiece.

You should be @Scared Silly cause it is my wife that cares. She likes a nice light second stage that breaths as smooth as silk.
 
FWIW: I think the T2X with titanium swivel was neutrally buoyant in salt water when turned upside down so it remains full of air. With brass jam nuts and hoses My T1s are lightly negative, so whatever the net buoyancy of the TFX, I'll be happy with it. :)
 
Well, well, a spontaneous purchase arrived today:

Got a good deal in it cause the environmental trim ring was installed upside down and it did not come with the "deluxe padded regulator case." My wife has already claimed it, so it was mine for about an hour.

Now you can stick to something simple for a 2nd stage and be happy also, like a G250v.
 
New info trickles in...

In addition to reworking the thickness of the diaphragm retainer clip for the rare case of misty breathing, Atomic is changing the compound of the exhaust valve. That part may be included in the first run of service kits for replacement. It improves exhaust seal, and may improve slightly wet breathing in those weird positions we played with.

Specification cracking effort has been raised from 0.9" to 1.1", supposedly to "improve stability". After our tests in Cozumel, I'm not sure that's necessary, but I'm willing to tolerate a little skittishness for truly effortless breathing. Still, the difference won't be apparent, since with the low diaphragm the valve is already almost open, and inhalation effort in the standard position is close to zero. And most divers won't complain about 1.1" in other positions. Still, it may also decrease mist when past inverted.

The Service Technician course still hasn't been filmed yet, so with few exceptions shops still aren't getting access to parts. But that is about to change.

More as I hear about it...
 
I'm not sure that's necessary, but I'm willing to tolerate a little skittishness for truly effortless breathing.
Ditto, that's my plan, as the TFX will be my primary, and the venturi can be detuned.
