Bungee however does not restrict movement of the lp hose. It does not hold the hose down just leeps it in place once the inflator is connected.

I wonder if the reason the innertube band works (presuming it does work and I'm not just thinking it does) is because it's higher up on the hose than the D-ring. So what I mean is that although the innertube is smaller in diameter, and perhaps less stretchy, the hose is closer to the center of the angle* up higher and so doesn't need to "lift" as much?

I don't know that; I'm just thinking out loud. I think I will try a bungie loop to compare.

*Ack, can't think of right way to say this. I'm sure it's NOT "center of the angle," but it's been too long since geometry class!

If for some reason you'd want to move the corrugated hose, you'd have to disconnect the inflator hose from the corrugated hose just to free it up then, I'd guess, reconnect it. If you just put both hoses through a loose bungee, its easy to do whatever you'd like to do with it. I think.

The LP inflater hose captured by loop of innertube works because the innertube is positioned above the left chest D-ring and the inflater hose is smooth. The hose can slide a little bit against the inside of the innertube loop to make it convenient to dump air from the power inflater assembly.

I've tried both methods: (1) just trapping the inflater hose with innertube and (2) capturing both the inflater hose and corrugated hose with a bungee cord loop mounted at the right chest D-ring. Both methods worked for me. I can easily switch between rigs using either setup. Not a big deal at all. It's kind of like choosing between two different methods to tie your shoelaces. (As long as the knot holds, that's good enough.)

so where do i get a bungee cord from lol
my dss rig came with those inner tubing things, but i think its to stop chafing.

thats very kind of you tnronin thanks but i'm from australia lol.
I actually managed to find a site that sells the little velcro straps on the shoulders so i think that should do it. if not ill try the inner tube thats on the shoulders.

Put just the LP hose through the loop and then run the lp hose through bike tube to attache it near the inflator. Easy peasy Japaneasy. Every time I try to attache a pic, my brouser shuts off. It does not like Scubaboard.
