Worst of Cozumel.

Weird how you keep showing up to say that. The redirect was to another thread that went in depth on the complainants about that OP. So the zealots are redirecting to ANOTHER thread complaining about something? Gee, that seems wrong.
OK, Zealots: Please meet in the 'secret' chat room immediately so we can discuss how redirecting to another complaint thread is not "zealot-like." In the chat we will discuss better zealot options like a redirect to the best margarita thread. We are succeeding however as it seems EVERYONE has strong Coz feelings.
Oh, please. If you can't stand anyone disagreeing with you, then maybe you should stay off the internet.
This is a forum about Cozumel; why would anyone be surprised that a lot of the regulars in here are fans of Cozumel?

For Craig66 and Ron Lee, the dive op's promise and lure of a surface interval at a beach was not to be. The surface interval was at a pier with NO beach attached. None. No sand. No space. No place to sit or lie.
The pier led to an outcropping of rocks, an array of thick overgrown shrubs and trees, and a few large sunbathing geckos.
(So for those of you who might be keen to the idea of a SI on a pier, this one may fit the bill
).
Yes, we various groups of recreational divers, some who booked with Deep Exposure, some who booked independently and came aboard with their own instructors, were mixed with techies. The techies were easy to recognize by their full wet suits, hoods, booties, double tanks, and multiple hoses; their lumbering gait across the deck to enter the water; their slow labor in climbing back aboard the boat; and their familiar techie diving pattern, known to accountants as FILO: first in, last out. Way last out, at that, too.
I appreciate the interaction with you people and hope the clarification, and humor, is helpful.

Those updated details make me wonder if they tied in at the Sand dollar pier not the one at Palancar? That would certainly not have been the promised beach SI....

Yea, I ould have to wonder where they tied up? The regular pier has a beach and a short walk to an actual beach club. However, given how crappy their experience was compared to their expectation, perhaps their memory of the pier was a little shaded by what they had been promised. That is reasonable.
On my last vacation, one place we went to eat served my soda with way too much ice in it. Ruined my entire vacation.

CVC, my memory is pretty fresh. While we were somewhat disappointed, and waterlogged too, this did not impair our abilities to spot and walk a pier that led to no where but rocks, thick brush, no beach, no sand, and no beach club.
I have learned quickly in this thread that divers have their predilections for different piers and si's.
But this dive op promised (and we paid extra for) a surface interval at a beach, which beach was not to be.
The talk of techies was really intended to address two previous posters' questions about whether there were in fact techies aboard, mixed in with recreational divers, and how the techies contributed to a less than stellar dive op.
Based upon our overall experience with Deep Exposure Dive Center, this is why I chimed in under this recent post of 'worst experiences in Cozumel.'
Thank you all for listening and for your input <insert pitcher of margaritas here>. Have a few on the house. I bought your favorite flavor....
